If Night's Dawn Imposed All (I.N.D.I.A.) by Karsten Brustad
This piece invokes the ragas found in the music of India. The title is a little mysterious but refers to the calmness and tranquility often felt in the 'blue hour' in the evening before the darkness swallows everything. The work is built on a raga by the violinist L. Subramaniam and is a wonderfully evocative concert item. The work has been recorded by Sven Lundestad and Tom Simensen on their CD 'Trivium'
"This is one of the best pieces of music written for flute and guitar that it has been my pleasure to review. This is a beautifully written piece whether the instruments are playing individually or together the sounds are ravishing. ... Buy it and perform it!" - Classical Guitar Magazine
